Sirinath National Park – Nai Yang Beach
The Sirinath National Park was established as a park in 1992 and has a total surface area of 90 square-kilometers, covering from the west side of the airport on Nai Yang, Nai Thon, Mai Khao beaches to northern tip of Phuket Island.
According to the Thai Forestry Department, there are 115 species of birds and 23 species of marine animals calling the Sirinath National Park their home.
Activities at the Sirinath National Park
Dewa Phuket is adjacent to the park, giving you easy access to the park's forest and white sand beach of Nai Yang. Nai Yang Beach inside the park, with its impressive stretch of tall Casuarinas trees provides the perfect ground for a picnic after a swim in the turquoise sea. Fill up your picnic basket (available from The Deli) with your favorite munchies and have a relaxing time lazing in the sun or in the shade of the forest, listening to the gentle break of the waves or try your hand at kite-boarding or board surfing.
You can also give snorkeling a try and discovery a vast population of marine species on the Nai Yang coral reefs. During the good season, the reef protects a good part of the Nai Yang bay, making easy and safe to go explore the reefs.
Bicycle riding, walking and jogging are also good activities within the park, with its flat road and low density of car traffic. There are many paths and flat open grounds within the park to enjoy activities with your children away from the road.
The Sirinath National Park is maintain and managed by the Ministry of Thai Forestry, who also provides sheltered areas, a camping site, public toilet facilities and activity areas for groups in open-air or roofed building. The Ministry also has an office from where you can find more information in English about the park and what is available to the public.
